I was pleasantly surprised by the charming atmosphere of the hotel, especially the fantastic breakfast options. Ish, the hotel manager, added a personal touch that made our stay even more enjoyable.

Good for budget travelers
I appreciated the microwave and fridge in our room, easy to store snacks and heat up leftovers. The continental breakfast, though basic, saved us money on food, and honestly, I was surprised it was included given the price.
It wasn't a bargain, but for what we got, it was still acceptable.

The location was great. For being such a rustic hotel, the room well appointed. The maid service friendly and courteous.

Operable windows were great. Room had really beautiful interior design.
The elevator was antiquated, slow and hard to use. The elevator door was heavy and hard to hold open. The breakfast offered was low quality, just toast and coffee, no protein. The design quality of the rooms is much better than the lobby. The lobby and public spaces should be improved to match the design quality of the rooms.

The room was nice. It was very small, but it was nice overall. The bathroom looked great, and the shower worked very well.
The location seemed very sketchy, but I had no problems with anyone. There is no hotel lobby, but most of the people at the front desk were nice. The room was very small but was nice overall. The "free breakfast" is a joke: it involves random packages of bread products with huge jars of peanut butter and cream cheese. The fruit tasted fine, but there is no way to know how fresh it is. There is a Subway around the corner; I would go there for breakfast.

ideal base for exploring san francisco's best attractions
The central location made it easy to walk to union square in just under 5 minutes and enjoy fantastic nearby eateries like joy's place, only a few steps away. This hotel was like a cozy retreat after a day of city strolls. Single travelers will appreciate the comfortable rooms, though the absence of air conditioning could be a challenge during hotter days.

Comfortable Stay with Great Value
The charming decor felt unique, unlike typical hotels. Don't miss the free breakfast-grab some bagels and fresh fruit! Consider bringing earplugs for the street noise at night.

Decent location. Close to shopping, Union Square, etc. "Breakfast" included.
Are you serious? The room was tiny. The tv was tiny with limited channels. It was noisy. You could hear everything outside and you could hear through the walls. I heard the person next door snoring. The "breakfast" was breads and little else. The cleaning lady left her dirty cleaning rag lying on the one chair in the room. The towels were threadbare. No coffee maker in the room. Not even a pad to write on by the phone.

Location to Union Square was good. Free wireless
Hotel is shabby and staff not very helpful. Breakfast consists of bagels and bread in the store wrappers where everyone put their hands in the same bag. Butter and peanut butter are in a huge jar that is used over and over. I wuld not recommend eating here.
